DAY THOUGHTS

Heartening emotions sinking down
Feelings and expressions lightening up
Over and over the days I breathe
Dont you know its due to you.

Soft voices my ears can catch
Laughter sublime I hear of yours
Face so glowing that you have
Can I catch a glimpse of you.

Crying aloud my meek portion
Weak emotions my heart produces
All because of your reactions
All because of your creations

Righteousness and justice in my blood
Love and kindness is in my breath
Godly living is my promise
Would you ever know all these?

Gentleness and holiness are my badge
The word of God is my strength
To have your love is my wish
Will you ever accept as this?

ENLIGHTMENT

There are things all around
Beautiful and amazing they are
There are thoughts all around
Mysterious and unbound so much

A walk on a sunny day
Makes you ponder yonder
What are the things all around?
What are the thoughts all around?

Manking crafted history shows
Many pondering over these
And thus has come to fore
Knowledge and understanding.

Enlightment mankind called it
Schools and colleges we built
Enlightening knowledge to gain
Deep understanding to find.

SOME THOUGHTS ON POEMS READ

Just as i started writing about the novels i have read let me also list down some of the poets and their poetry which i have read. I am thankful that i had a nice school which was under the ICSE board, thus giving us more exposure to literature and arts than any other. Poems are a basic human expression of emotions in words and rhyme, some favourite poems strike a deep corner of the heart and bring forward long hidden emotions upfront.

Listing down the few poets and their poetry which i have read, i recall that i am a classics lover , thus my poetry also starts with the classic poet William Wordsworth. He's my favourite, having read many of his poetry, favourite among which is the " The Solitary Reaper" , a poem which expresses the emotions of a rural girl working in the fields and singing about her environment and life. I like Wordsworth because he is a "nature poet", showering his poetry with nature and description of the natural world and its emotions.

Then i like John Keats, though dont recall many of his poems but still a lasting memory of his words remain in my heart and i so i can remember him and his poetry full of visions and arts.

There is T.S Elliot , Coleridge, and many more who have influenced my adolescence, just realised that i need go and revise and relive all those beautiful poetry and write about them in the coming days.

SOME THOUGHTS ON NOVELS READ

I was just wondering about the best books I have read all these years of my life and thoughts came to my mind as to why not list them and write about them. So have decided to review all the books i can remember of in the past and also books i will be reading from now on.

Well, i am a classic fan, so let me begin with reminiscence of some of my old favoutrites and then i recall all my childhood favourites and so do my new favourites. Let me try to list out all the books and authors I have read, then write about them as much as I have free time with me.

Let me begin with classics:
(I have read English and Bengali both)

Classics begin with Dickens, one of my childhood favourites David Copperfield, Great Expectations, A Tale of Two Cities, A Christmass Carol, The Pickwick Papers, Oliver Twist (i hardly recall the story though) .

Then I recall George Elliot, some of my emotional novels, The Mill on the Floss, Silas Marner, Middlemarch.

On Jules Verne, Around the world in 80 days ( which i have read many times) , Journey to the center of the Earth, 20000 leagues beneath the sea.

Another childhood favourite Mark Twain, they have some of my favourite characters such as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Adventures of Huckelburry Finn (was that the correct name, got to check it), A Connecticut Yankee in the Court of Arthur.

Then there is Arthur Conan Doyle, I have read the entire collection of Sherlock Holmes, many favourites and really thrilling stories.

Oh, I was about to skip one my favoutrites Leo Tolstoy, i could muster patience and time to read only one of his novel , War and Peace but it is one huge classic , unforgettable, each chapter brings out new philosophies. Also have read many of His short stories, i just cannot keep emotions when i remember those stories, will write about them later.

Ok, then there is The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas . Ivanhoe by Walter Scott.

Heidi is one my loveliest read novels, swiss alps and beautiful nature. Also have read Wuthering Heights, a memorable American classic.

About modern novels just started after joining college, Jeffrey Archer is what i started with, Sons of Fortune, The Fourth Estate, Shall We tell the President, Kane and Abel, really good Business and political stories and epics.

After that tried reading John Grisham, have read The Chamber, The Partner.

But, most of these till now liked Eric Sehgal, read his book Doctors and then Prizes, really fantastic motivational stories.

Well, these are just the novels i can remember now, i have read some more of them, infact many whose names and authors escape my mind, but i will recall and list them also.

Anyways, will end the today telling about my two favourite novels, The Mill on the Floss by George Eliot and A Christmass Carol by Charles Dickens. I Love these two novels ardently, the first gives me memories and thoughts on my family and the second gives me thoughts about my life and what i need to do in future in the sight of God.

WINTER WALK
===========

Winter cometh cold bringeth
Nights dark and mornings gloom
Trees shadowy in the mist
Sky unseen in the fog
Wind cometh bringing chills
Facing this cold i feel

Walking down the wintry night
Thoughts reminiscent in my mind
Past before my own eyes
Future beholds in my sight
Silent sigh I give in joy
Smile weakly watch the day

Hopes and wishes all are true
Family, friends all I have
Deeds and actions still to do
Many I have in days to come
So wish me in the wintry cold
A gentle touch with blessings told.

MORNING DELIGHT
=================

As I start the day
Good Morning I say
Bright Sunny Day
Is on my way

One thing I see
Which gives me glee
As I enter the day
My Fair Lady

Reminds Me lot
A lovely song
I hear a lot
By "The Rolling Stones"

"She's Like A Rainbow,
She Comes In Colours Everywhere
She Comes Again
She' Like A Rainbow

Have you seen her
Dressed In Blue
(And Red Today)
You see the sky
Infront of You.

Have you seen
A Lady such as her
So Fair and Pale
She's like A Rainbow."

She's Like A Rainbow so
Love the Colours she wears
And Every Morning thus I
Softly Smile with delight.

MIDNIGHT DIARY
=============

As I blink
As I blog
As I ponder
As I wonder

Music so sweet
Night so quiet
Net so quick
And Life so sweet

Makes me happy
Topsy-turvy and giddy
At the prospect
Tomorrow brings
With friends
And family always

God protecting
Thoughts clearing
Heart whispering
Time shouting
Its time today
For a new Beginning.

And I look
With gleeful looks
The tomorrow is not
Just another day
Its the time
For a new Beginning.

A few of my simple poems I wrote, while RDBMS lecture was going on sometime in last week...The most creative lecture i ever attend ;-)

NATURE EMOTIONS
=================

Water:
Waters clear, Colours surround
Birds fly, Mind uplifts.

Sky:
Sky is blue, Sparkle full
Heart is joyful
But mind unsettled.

Then my dear
Why fear, Why far
Just Be near.

Stars shine, Moon lights
Singing songs
From me to you.

Cars:
Cars zoom, Spouting smoke
Eyes speak, Sadness Dense.

Trees:
Trees are green
Fruits are sweet
But cannot foresee
My Gloom untold.

Shrubs galore, Land over
I will dance
Even here.

Air:
Air is clear
Sunshine bright
Clouds unseen
Winds also smooth
Let me thus fly
In my Thoughts
And see you there
In Journeys everywhere.

Time:
Time is unstoppable
Ageing is bearable
Distance unfathomable
None is understanding
Emotion unspeakable
And Days Unpassable
Withouth the sight
Of You.

Clouds:
Clouds are dark
Rains Speak
Storms welcoming
Birds Running
Animals covering
Why am I here?
Pondering Me
Reflecting life
Catching sighs
Spirit Lighting.

Smile:
Smile dear
And laugh loud
Cry no more
I am there
Forever there
Always there
Near Ever
So Dear
Laugh More
And Cheer Aloud.

Pen:
Pen writes, Ink black
Blue also, green also
And Oh Red also
So does my heart too
Blue, Black and Red Sometimes
Upon thoughts many
About You only.

Please post your comments if u like or dislike anyof the simple poems :0)
Thanx
