SOME THOUGHTS ON NOVELS READ
I was just wondering about the best books I have read all these years of my life and thoughts came to my mind as to why not list them and write about them. So have decided to review all the books i can remember of in the past and also books i will be reading from now on.
Well, i am a classic fan, so let me begin with reminiscence of some of my old favoutrites and then i recall all my childhood favourites and so do my new favourites. Let me try to list out all the books and authors I have read, then write about them as much as I have free time with me.
Let me begin with classics:
(I have read English and Bengali both)
Classics begin with Dickens, one of my childhood favourites David Copperfield, Great Expectations, A Tale of Two Cities, A Christmass Carol, The Pickwick Papers, Oliver Twist (i hardly recall the story though) .
Then I recall George Elliot, some of my emotional novels, The Mill on the Floss, Silas Marner, Middlemarch.
On Jules Verne, Around the world in 80 days ( which i have read many times) , Journey to the center of the Earth, 20000 leagues beneath the sea.
Another childhood favourite Mark Twain, they have some of my favourite characters such as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Adventures of Huckelburry Finn (was that the correct name, got to check it), A Connecticut Yankee in the Court of Arthur.
Then there is Arthur Conan Doyle, I have read the entire collection of Sherlock Holmes, many favourites and really thrilling stories.
Oh, I was about to skip one my favoutrites Leo Tolstoy, i could muster patience and time to read only one of his novel , War and Peace but it is one huge classic , unforgettable, each chapter brings out new philosophies. Also have read many of His short stories, i just cannot keep emotions when i remember those stories, will write about them later.
Ok, then there is The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas . Ivanhoe by Walter Scott.
Heidi is one my loveliest read novels, swiss alps and beautiful nature. Also have read Wuthering Heights, a memorable American classic.
About modern novels just started after joining college, Jeffrey Archer is what i started with, Sons of Fortune, The Fourth Estate, Shall We tell the President, Kane and Abel, really good Business and political stories and epics.
After that tried reading John Grisham, have read The Chamber, The Partner.
But, most of these till now liked Eric Sehgal, read his book Doctors and then Prizes, really fantastic motivational stories.
Well, these are just the novels i can remember now, i have read some more of them, infact many whose names and authors escape my mind, but i will recall and list them also.
Anyways, will end the today telling about my two favourite novels, The Mill on the Floss by George Eliot and A Christmass Carol by Charles Dickens. I Love these two novels ardently, the first gives me memories and thoughts on my family and the second gives me thoughts about my life and what i need to do in future in the sight of God.
